Week 8 Comments and Feedback
Influential and essential things regarding feedback. Web Source: Feedback Infographics Page
The first aspect of this blog post I am going to focus on is called Feedback In. I would rate the comments I am receiving in my blog at an 8. I am really grateful that my peers are enjoying my stories. It has been extremely encouraging to read all of the feedback I have gotten. The comments that have really allowed me to challenge my creativity and basis of my stories are those that have been extremely descriptive in offering advice to enhance the quality of my stories. I think being precise is great when giving feedback because it leaves the writer with enough detailed information to evaluate their story in comparison to the feedback provided. It also gives the reader a chance to delve deeper into their writing skills.
That being said, Feedback Out is also equally as important as receiving it. I would also rate the feedback I have given to my peers at an 8. There is always room for improvement. When I give feedback to others, I point out certain points within their story as I read. Using the points I write down has tremendously helped me to provide more constructive feedback. It has also altered the way I examine my own pieces. Analytically reading other people's stories is beneficial because it amplifies imagery and fosters innovative thinking.
The third feature that is essential to my blog is Blog Comments. Starting the blog with an introduction was a positive way to get to meet peers in an online class. I really feel like everyone's introductions were successful in letting me get to know them on a personal level. I also like how at any given time we can go back an add more things about ourselves in our introductions. Reading other people's introductions made me feel like mine was a little short, so I will probably add some more information later on.
The next component of this assignment is focused on Looking Forward. As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, I would like to alter my introduction to make it more meaningful and representative of me as an individual. I might also add some more photos from my personal life. I intend to make sure the feedback I leave continues to be detailed and helpful to the writer.
Lastly, I chose the Image that expresses the seven things to remember about feedback. I chose this specific image because it highlights many different ways that people may view or understand feedback. Particularly, my favorite part of the image talks about acknowledging that the classroom is a safe space to make mistakes. I have never viewed the classroom in that way, so my hope is to try and adopt that point of thinking. I think this will be an even more advantageous way to give and receive feedback in a positive way.
